“Deputy for Policy and Development” appointed as Vice President for Academic Affairs

The Vice President for Science, in a decree, appointed Esfandiar Ekhtari, Advisor to the Vice President for Science and Head of the Committee for Promoting Legal Capacities in the Knowledge-Based Economy, as the Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, while retaining his position as “Deputy for Policy and Development” and “Secretary of the Steering Council for Knowledge-Based Technologies and Products.”

According to the Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, Hossein Afshin, the Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, appointed Esfandiar Ekhtari, Advisor to the Vice President for Science and Head of the Committee for Promoting Legal Capacities in the Knowledge-Based Economy, while retaining his position as “Deputy for Policy and Development” and “Secretary of the Steering Council for Knowledge-Based Technologies and Products.”

The decree addressed to Ekhtari states:

“Given your merit and valuable experience, by virtue of this decree, you are appointed as the “Deputy for Policy and Development” and “Secretary of the Steering Council for Knowledge-Based Technologies and Products,” while retaining his position.

This serious responsibility requires you to rely on your valuable experiences and capabilities, and rely on the sublime principles of the Islamic Revolution and the country’s macro policies, to take steps in the strategy and formulation of long-term and sustainable policies and plans for the growth and excellence of science, technology, and innovation in the area of ​​responsibility of the deputy and various fields. Diligent pursuit of the assigned tasks, especially the creation and application of appropriate policy tools to promote and develop the innovation ecosystem and knowledge-based economy, and the implementation of the missions assigned in the upstream laws and documents, especially the Knowledge-Based Production Leap Law and the provisions of the Seventh Five-Year Plan for the country’s progress, is expected.

I ask God Almighty for continued success in following the wise instructions of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the valuable policies of the fourteenth government.

I would also like to express my special gratitude and appreciation for the tireless efforts and efforts of Dr. Mehdi Eliasi during his tenure in this position, and I wish him well-being and success from God Almighty.”
