The presence of the Knowledge-Based Expert Delegation at the Iran-Russia Information and Communication Technology Event 2024

During the knowledge-based trade delegation’s trip to Moscow to attend the specialized event on Iran-Russia Information and Communication Technology, companies from both sides welcomed the development of trade exchanges, especially in the ICT field, by introducing their products and services.

According to the Public Relations Department of the Iranian Knowledge-Based Organizations Forum, the specialized trade delegation consisting of representatives of knowledge-based companies in the field of information technology, which traveled to Moscow with the efforts of the Knowledge-Based Organizations Forum, the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, the Presidential Innovation and Prosperity Fund, and the cooperation of Rayton Export Development and Technology Exchange Company, participated in the specialized event on Iran-Russia Information and Communication Technology.

At this event, Sergey Plugotarenko, CEO of Digital Economy Russia, and Saeed Rasoulov, member of the Board of Directors of the Iranian Knowledge-Based Organizations Forum, gave speeches, and the companies then engaged in direct negotiations with each other.

At the beginning of the event, Saeed Rasoulof referred to the 140-year history of the Tehran Chamber, calling it the oldest private sector civil society organization in Iran with 140 years of history, and said: The Tehran Chamber has focused a lot on the development of the digital economy in recent years, and currently a number of Iranian digital economy activists, including 18 companies, are present at this event to discuss with their counterparts in Russia.

Rasoulof, who is heading the delegation, said: The Tehran Chamber, with nearly 40,000 active members in various economic fields, can provide a suitable platform for the development of relations and further interaction between Russian companies and Iranian companies.

He spoke of full readiness for the exchange of specialized trade delegations between the two countries, and added: Numerous events in the fields related to information and communication technology on an international scale, such as Elcomp, Telecom, Mobile Congress, etc., are held in Tehran, and we welcome the presence of Russian companies in these events.

Rasoulof called one of the problems of interaction and trade between Iranian and Russian companies the limited information of the trading parties about each other and stated: One of the problems of Iranian companies is their lack of information and knowledge of Russian digital economy activists. In recent years, we have only had trade exchanges with two to three provinces in Russia. On the other hand, the situation is similar, and Russian companies also establish business relations with companies in several large provinces of Iran. Therefore, it is very important that we can help activists understand the markets of the two countries through cooperation between the Tehran Chamber of Commerce and the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and other institutions such as the Russian Digital Economy. Then, when this cooperation and recognition occurs, we can use the capacities of the Tehran Chamber to establish correspondence for companies to cooperate in various fields.

He concluded by announcing that the Tehran Chamber is fully prepared for any interaction and cooperation with Russian companies in the field of digital economy; Because large companies are operating in Iran and provide very good and competitive services in many areas of infrastructure, software, and digital economy content.

According to this report, Sergey Plugotarenko, CEO of the Russian Digital Economy, also spoke at this bilateral event about the capacities and willingness of Russian companies to develop trade exchanges between Russian and Iranian companies and welcomed the proposals of the Iranian side and the development of cooperation centered on the Tehran Chamber.

This program continued with a workshop to introduce the trends and approaches of the Russian digital economy, and in the third part of the Iran-Russia Information and Communication Technology Forum 2024, Iranian and Russian companies explained their activities and products. In the final part of this event, a B2B negotiation session was held between Iranian and Russian companies.

The director of the Iran-related department of the largest Russian bank also attended the forum and spoke about the bank’s willingness to handle financial and credit affairs for Iranian companies, and urged the economic activists present at the Tehran Chamber of Commerce delegation to use their services to advance their interactions and trade.

Russian companies also introduced their digital economy services and products, which are based on information and communication technology, to the Iranian parties, and considered one of their goals to be the creation of trade routes with Iranians.
